Eaten Acorns

The black squirrels were nibbling all over the old Graveyard in White Plains.  I like the leftover bits that they leave behind.  Especially the detritus they left on the stone bench; it's covered in eaten acorns.

Old Warehouse

Last Friday I got to visit an old warehouse in Brooklyn.  There was lots of cool old stuff (including a 50's style refrigerator, 2 ton hoist and gargantuan old boiler that will never move)  There are lots of old metal hangers with NYC embossed on the front. I love the old fashioned Eagle lock, but my favorite it the "received with suspected internal damage" stamp-- I can already think of so many uses for it!

cards and envelopes

I've been playing with my sewing machine, making cards and envelopes:

This one is my favorite: a stitch sampler card.  While the machine has diagrams of what each stitch should look like, they are actually very different when actually sewn; and some of the uilitarian stitches are actually the most decorative.  I dabbed a small spot of glue on the ends of each line of stitches (inside the card) to keep them from unraveling.
